AHA's mission is to support the development of sustainable community based health initiatives that promote justice and dignity in healthcare among poor communities in Chile and the Americas.

AHA carries out its mission by focusing on the following goals:

• Strengthen and expand the capacity of EPES (Educación Popular en Salud) to promote health and dignity in Chile and the Americas through educational training programs and materials;
• Attract U.S. funding for health education activities in Chile and the region;
• Promote EPES' methodologies and materials among churches, public health students and community health workers that participate in short and log term international programs;
• Secure the financial, technical and human resources so that AHA can help meet the growing and increasingly complex demands faced by EPES.
