In response to the increasing demands and barriers faced by EPES, Action for Health in the Americas (AHA) was founded in Albany, NY in October 2005. As EPES' U.S. partner organization, AHA supports the development of sustainable community based health initiatives that promote justice and dignity in healthcare among poor communities in Chile and the Americas. AHA is a young and all-volunteer organization, but has already accomplished a great deal! In less than a year, AHA has convened two board meetings, sent out letters announcing AHA to friends and supporters, created and distributed the first newsletter, organized a fundraising concert featuring Peter and Bethany Yarrow, and participated in the opening of the new EPES center in Concepción, Chile!
